Allegory is more than just a cocktail bar; it's a unique experience that blends art, literature, social good, craft cocktails, and hospitality. Hidden behind a nondescript door in the Eaton DC’s Progress Library, Allegory offers a one-of-a-kind ambiance that captivates guests from the moment they enter. The bar features a stunning work of art by Erik Thor Sandberg, depicting Lewis Carroll’s "Alice in Wonderland" & "Through the Looking Glass" through the eyes of Ruby Bridges—the first Black child to desegregate the William Frantz Elementary School in Louisiana in 1960. This setting provides a rich backdrop for enjoying equally imaginative cocktails.
Creative Director Deke Dunne and a new bar team of D.C. all-stars helm Allegory, crafting imaginative takes on classic cocktails using advanced culinary and molecular techniques like spherification, clarification, and forced carbonation. The menu is a testament to the team's creativity and dedication to the craft, offering guests a chance to explore a wide range of flavors and techniques. Whether you're a cocktail aficionado or new to the world of mixology, Allegory's menu promises an exciting and memorable experience.
Allegory operates Monday through Thursday from 5:00 PM to 12:00 AM and Friday through Saturday from 5:00 PM to 2:00 AM.
