Hanging Ditch occupies a quiet corner of a Leeds Street courtyard in Te Aro, named for its signature storage method where bottles of spirits hang from ropes and hooks above the bar—creating a unique aesthetic as bartenders reach up into the gently swaying collection to craft cocktails. The cosy space features old brick walls and hardwood floors with leather couches, alongside an impressive selection of handcrafted drinks highlighting local ingredients, plus Garage Project craft beers and an excellent wine selection. Bar snacks such as chicken cognac pâté and popcorn shrimp complement the beverage program.
