Pier 42, located within Oslo's Amerikalinjen Hotel, draws inspiration from Manhattan's historic pier where countless Scandinavians embarked for America. The bar masterfully blends American lobby bar opulence with Nordic minimalism, featuring a menu inspired by the contrasts between New York and Norwegian styles. Named bar manager Adrián Michalčí won Diageo World Class Global Bartender of the Year, and the bar secured the 96th position on the Top 500 Bars List 2023, claiming Best Cocktail Bar in Norway in both 2021 and 2022. The cocktail menu reimagines the golden age of transatlantic travel through the fictional diary of Captain S.C. Hiortdahl of the SS Kristianiafjord.
