Sugar Monk

Sugar Monk is an intimate Harlem cocktail lounge located at 2292 Frederick Douglass Boulevard near the Apollo Theater, honoring the uptown speakeasies that anchored the Harlem Renaissance. The art-filled venue features creative handcrafted cocktails made with premium spirits, artisanal amari, liqueurs, and wild ingredients sourced by renowned forager Tama Matsuoka Wong, who creates house bitters and infusions on-site. Co-founded by accomplished mixologist and visual artist Ektoras Binikos and photographer-designer Simon Jutras, the bar hosts live jazz performances every Tuesday. The chill yet sophisticated atmosphere, combined with a curated wine selection and small plates, creates an essential destination for creative cocktail culture in Harlem.
